Ive heard of this place before and I haven't been to American before see my beautiful pictures Went on a saturday night at 6pm..staff were all very friendly and helpful. There were 17 of us eating here and we had a long table near the bar. The food, drinks, service was amazing. To top the night off the owner after her rush was over, decided to have a drink with us, and listen to great music of our choosing. After such a great night we decided to stay and try out the rooms. The room was clean, the beds were made, the room was perfect. Normally we have a problem with the water presser when we visit hotels when we drive from Fairbanks to homer. Though this room we didn't have a problem with it. Good luck finding a better place on the highway then this place. The Fireweed Roadhouse is a home away from home. Excellent homemade soup and the salad dressing is home made. Great service and the staff were such fun. They have a ping pong table too! This is a hidden gem. Stopped here for lunch. The inn and restaurant are about 50 miles north of Denali National Park on Parks Highway. A bit wary since no one else was there, but the service was friendly and the food fresh and flavorful. I opted for breakfast food - crispy corned beef hash, eggs and toast - and my husband had the Reuben sandwich with a side of potato salad that he said tasted just like his momma's famous potato salad. Prices were reasonable too. Enjoyed reading their guest book and added our own compliments. Would definitely eat here again. What a great find. Can not say enough about how immaculate and well put together everything is at this road-side treasure. Excellent service, atmosphere, and prices. The walls are filled with nice memorabilia from the area. Do yourself a favor and plan to make a stop here for a meal when going between Fairbanks and Denali.
